My 09 stock EG would make that noise spark knock when riding through the mountains in Montana. Two more areas where a slightly different clicking clucking sound can come from is the breather seperator cap chattering up and down or the throttle shafts tapping at idle. A knocking engine can also be caused by a warped cylinder wall valve tapping or lateral moving bearings.

2 Mar 11 2010. The knocking has gone away on heavy acceleration though so al least it is better all round. A lot of vibration from bottom of engine and when opening the throttle hard to accelerate I get a knocking like the big end bearing is going.

Just looking for some advice on where to start first. No check engine lights or anything like that. It reminds me of an octane ping sort of.
