The Harley-Davidson X90 commonly referred to as the Shortster was a mini Harley two-stroke built by an Italian company that started out making fighter aircraft during the First World War. The X90 replaced the earlier Shortster MC-65 which was available in 1972 only. Built by Harleys Italian subsidiary Aermacchi the X-90 was powered by an air-cooled 90cc two-stroke single married to a four-speed gearbox.

Motorbikes were equipped with engines of 904 cc 55 cui displacement delivering 59 kW 8 PS 8 hp of power. On sparkling blue gas tanks all stripes were silver. Harley capitalized on its partnership with Aermacchi on this venture.
